The Smashing Pumpkins announce a 14-show run of intimate venues beginning July 6 in Cleveland and wrapping July 24 in Memphis. This marks the band’s first tour since December 2008 and will feature, says leader and founder Billy Corgan, “a balance of classics, a few obscure ones, and new ‘Teargarden’ material.”
Following their red-hot Cinco de Mayo performance in Los Angeles, JANE’S ADDICTION will head across the Atlantic next month for two major shows in Europe. They’ll appear Sunday, June 9 at the Gelredome in The Netherlands (with Rage Against the Machine and Gogol Bordello) and then Friday, June 11 at Rock In Rio in Madrid, Spain (with Rage Against the Machine and Cypress Hill).
Meanwhile, the band–singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and new member, bassist Duff McKagan–continue to write in Los Angeles for their next album, tentatively due out in the winter of 2011 on Capitol). It will be supported by a worldwide concert tour.
